What a friend we have in Jesus,

everything to God in prayer!

Have we trials and temptations?

Can we find a friend so faithful,

Jesus knows our every weakness:

Are we weak and heavy-laden,
cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Saviour, still our refuge:
take it to the Lord in prayer.
Do your friends despise, forsake you?
Take it to the Lord in prayer:
in his arms he'll take and shield you,
you will find a solace there.
Ruth - this is probably my favorite hymn - we sang it what seems like hundreds of times in church when I was growing up - I wonder as I read each line - why don't I take it to him in prayer. Thank you for such a gentle reminder that he would love to hear about all of our concerns - not just the ones we are brave enough to set before him. You must be so excited about Cassie and Nate coming home soon.
